AFTI, Associazione Farmaceutici Ticinese (Pharmaceutical Association of Ticino), was founded in 1982 based on an idea of the first “Farmacista Cantonale” of Canton Ticino (representative of Swissmedic in Canton Ticino) Dr. Pierfranco Livio, whose principal objective was to group the technical and professional people employed in the pharmaceutical industry in Ticino, in order to create an organisation having the scope to constantly keep the members updated concerning the developments in the pharmaceutical field. This is made by considering the particular situation of Canton Ticino, where some medium-sized companies and a considerable number of small-sized companies, have their own office and need to be supported from the training and economic point of views.
AFTI is located in Lugano, has more than 500 members and is directed by a nine member steering committee.
Main mission of AFTI is to support the professional advancement and continuous professional training of its affiliates organising courses, congresses, symposia, seminars and workshops.
AFTI is a reference point for the pharmaceutical industry of Ticino and is deeply engaged in creating stronger collaboration and relationships among its members. It promotes the spreading of technical and scientific information and developments which may contribute to the professional growth of the affiliates and of the companies.View website
